Extraterritorial Income Exclusion (ETI)
Congress replaced the foreign sales corporation export incentives in 2000 with the ETI provisions. The American Jobs Creation Act of 2004 repealed ETI over a two-year phase out period. While the ETI exclusion is no longer available, taxpayers may be able to derive substantial tax savings by amending prior year tax returns and claiming an optimized ETI exclusion. The firm’s Vantage Point software optimizes the selection of the various administrative pricing methods available to taxpayers. In many cases, the firm has identified additional tax savings associated with prior year’s tax returns prepared by others and helps its clients prepare claims for refund and supporting those claims through the IRS administrative processes when necessary.
